We are delighted to welcome Sathu Jois to Old School Yoga Studio in Preston-on-Stour, where she will be leading a three-day yoga workshop on 8th, 9th and 10th of May 2026. This special event will offer Mysore-style practice with pranayama and chanting.

The workshop will start at 10am each day with a Mysore guided self-practice followed by pranayama and chanting to finish.

About Sathu Jois

Sathu was born into the rich lineage of Ashtanga yoga. As the daughter of Manju Jois and granddaughter of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, she grew up immersed in the practice and philosophy of this profound tradition. Travelling alongside her father to workshops around the world, she absorbed the essence of Ashtanga first-hand and developed her own approach — one that honours the tradition while embracing a welcoming, inclusive, and joyful spirit.

Sathu’s Teaching Approach

Sathu’s teaching is grounded in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your practice without fear of failure or embarrassment. She believes that everybody is unique, and every journey is personal, celebrating progress in all its forms.

“As your teacher, my role is not to hold you back or dictate your path but to provide guidance and support. In this space, you are free to be yourself — to be curious, to explore, and to grow.”

For Sathu, yoga is more than just a physical and mental discipline — it is a practice filled with joy, laughter, and community. She approaches each session with tenderness and care, ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and valued. The Ashtanga yoga community, in her eyes, is like a family — built on mutual respect, kindness, and support.

Through this workshop, Sathu invites you to step into a nurturing and light hearted environment, where yoga becomes a transformative and uplifting journey — both on and off the mat.
